Asperger’s Syndrome (AS) falls under the umbrella of Autism spectrum disorders. It is characterized by repetitive behaviors and interests and also difficulties in social interaction among other things. Asperger’s  is named after the pediatrician Hans Asperger who, in 1944, studied and described children in his practice who lacked communication skills, demonstrated limited empathy with peers and were physically clumsy
