Getting my fill of my cigarettes today because tomorrow I am quitting FOR GOOD! The Hubs too!! (Thank you Moosh♥) I am embarrassed to even say we are smokers for the obvious reasons but also because three years ago I was in the hospital for 9 days over Christmas with a collapsed lung and a tube shoved in my side allowing me to breathe, attached to a machine, and stuck to a hospital bed away from my boy. It was scary and horrible and I never want to have to go through it again. I quit after that whole episode but unfortunately picked the habit back up when I was over-stressed..bum lung and all:( SO, tomorrow I will stick my nicotine patch on, I am gonna buy some cartridge thingies for my e-cig and that will be that! I debated on whether or not I should share this but I really want to quit so I’m letting you all know! Tomorrow this girl is a non-smoker!

Way to go…I wish you the best with your quitting. I smoked off and on for years (never when pregnant, but would end up going back to it in times of stress) and finally quit for good about 12 years ago! I will share with you something that was extremely helpful in staying with it for me since we need all the help we can get to do this terribly hard thing. So here it is: Make a list of all the reasons you WANT to quit smoking….I listed everything from keeping my kids away from second hand smoke, to bettering my overall health and my lungs, to being released from always looking for an ashtray/lighter/cigarettes and saving money. Just every reason you can possibly think of. I imagined myself as a non-smoking person and thought of all the good things that would come from that. I made copies of my list and posted it all over the house….next to the toilet, on the kitchen cabinets, by my bedside, etc. Anywhere you might be for a bit and can read it and be reminded of why you are quitting.
Hope this helps you out…I’ll say a prayer for you that you are able to quit and stay quit. Peace to your heart, Sara
My prayers are with you, soon to be “non-smoker”. You can do this!!
So I came across your blog while looking up information about The Healing Tree Bamboo Charcoal soap and saw this posting where you’re quitting the habit of smoking. From the time you posted this to today, it’s been about 5 months… just wanted to say congratulations! Hope you stuck with it and continue being healthy! God bless!
