Today I am reviewing a new, cutting edge solar cooler, the Kulcar solar-powered car ventilator. The device is about the size of a notebook and is used for cooling down a vehicle’s temperature from great, prolonged exposure to the sun, which can efficiently reduce fumes emitting from plastics under high heat. The product comes with a ten-year warranty for the solar panel and also a money back guarantee if the product is ineffective. I’m all about a good warranty!

The temperature inside a car parked under the 40°C/104°F sunny outdoor circumstances can easily reach 90°C/194°F. According to Kulcar,  if the vehicle is equipped with the Kulcar solar powered car cooler, the temperature will only be 49°C/120.2°F. The company states that with proper use, the in-car temperature will drop 20°C/68°F (while other brands for only 1°C /33.8°F), or they will give you your money back! After trying this product I can tell you that it is, in deed, very effective and very simple to install! (I did it without the Hubs help!) I used to notice a nasty “hot plastic” smell when I entered our vehicle after it has been sitting in the sun but since installing the Kulcar system that icky smell is actually gone! With the Kulcar cooling system, the vehicle smelled fresh and clean and there was a definite change in temperature. The car was actually cool inside!

Sonray, the company that makes the Kulcar solar powered car ventilator, states that this product actually expels hazardous fumes from the interior of your vehicle, such as Methyl, Acrolein, Butanone, Toluene, Benzene, Propyl Benzine, etc. AND it is environmentally friendly which is a huge plus and always an important factor to my family. In my humble opinion, you can’t put a price on the quality of the air you breathe.

You can leave the Kulcar system in place at all times but since it was so easy to install and uninstall, I just remove the system from the window after using it.

All in all I am very pleased with The Kulcar solar car cooler and would recommend it to others who are looking for a cooling product like this. I was highly impressed with the amount of power the unit had! Some of the solar products I have used in the past weren’t nearly as powerful and “ran out of juice” quickly so I was pleasantly surprised with this cooling system. The solar cooler was very simple to install and also to store, and the directions were very clear and easy to understand. I noticed a definite difference in the feel of the inside of the vehicle after leaving the Kulcar system in the truck while it was sitting in the hot sun and I am thrilled with the fact that it is environmentally conscious.
