I never thought I’d be the type of person who made their own laundry soap, let alone wrote a blog telling others how to do it but here I sit writing this blog. I get really tired of spending so much money on store bought detergent when it doesn’t even work that well. I can think of so many things that I would rather spend that money on! Making your own laundry soap is super simple, it works better, AND it is a lot cheaper!
1 cup Borax-$4.99
1 cup washing soda- $3.25 (arm & hammer makes it as well as other manufacturers)
1 bar of shaved bar soap- $1.25 (use a cheese grater or food processor and a homemade laundry bar if you have one, if not buy Ivory, ZOTE, or Fels-Naptha)
Mix everything together thoroughly for 5 minutes and BAM! You’re done peeps! :)
A batch yields about 32 ounces (between 32-64 loads based on how many Tbsp used).
